This visualisation, showing the rainfall from several large summer thunderstorms which raced across Europe on 6-7 August 2013, uses Multi-sensor Precipitation Estimate (MPE) data from the European Meteosat and US DMP satellites, showing the rain rate in mm/hr by colour, ranging from blue (low intensity) to red (high intensity).
