The eye of a super typhoon stares out into space from the surface our our planet.

This scene shows the largest super-storm of 2016, Typhoon Meranti, in the Pacific ocean, as it approached Taiwan and China.


Commissioned by the European organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), for use in their outreach communications, this composite image comprising satellite data overlaying my physically accurate Earth model.

The image was used extensively by the media, including News.com.au, BBC News and the Guardian.
