I’m always struck by scale and how our perception of it changes with distance. Waves become ripples, mountain ranges; creases, clouds; patterns in lace.
In this scene from a viewpoint above the alps, we zoom up and away from the Earth. As the planet recedes, the vast distances between stars takes over, revealing the frailty of our thin atmosphere, where every living thing on our planet resides.
