To condense 30 years of history into digestible chunks whilst displaying more context than a traditional timeline, I turned to 3D.
The isometric representation allows the historical context of the current event to be displayed at the same time as the detail. Events are displayed in colour-coded, interactive ‘cards’, illustrated with rich content such as photos and videos.
Commissioned for EUMETSAT‘s 30th Anniversary, the timeline used a proprietary 3D engine I developed for use with interactive displays and featured, mouse, touchscreen and gesture control via Leap Motion devices.
